What is Browse AI?

Browse AI is a code-free platform for web data extraction and website monitoring. After installing the browser recorder, users can perform actions such as clicking, typing, paging, and selecting fields on the target webpage; the platform then transforms these actions into repeatable robots, which generate structured tables or screenshots in the cloud.

It is suitable for converting websites that do not provide public APIs into continuously updated data sources, such as product prices, inventory levels, real estate listings, job postings, business directories, search results, and pages of competing companies. In addition to one-time data extraction, it is also possible to monitor changes in fields on a regular basis, use multiple robots for more in-depth data collection, and integrate this data into business systems through APIs, Webhooks, and spreadsheets.

Robot recording and code-free scraping

A Robot is the automated unit of Browse AI. During recording, the user first opens the target page, then selects the text, links, images, lists, or screenshots that need to be captured; it is also possible to demonstrate logging in, searching, filtering, clicking “Next Page”, and scrolling to load more content.

After the training is completed, each time the Robot is run, a Task is created.

The same robot can receive different starting pages, keywords, or other input parameters; therefore, there is no need to record new versions for each website. The number of robots is unlimited in all current solutions, but the number of available website domains is limited by the package chosen.

In-depth extraction from lists and detail pages

The listing Robot can first extract multiple records along with their detail links, and then use the Workflow to pass those links to the detail Robot, which will fill in the additional fields page by page. This type of Deep Scraping is suitable for retrieving product names and links from category pages, and then going to each product’s detail page to obtain descriptions, specifications, contact information, or inventory status.

The cost of in-depth data extraction cannot be estimated solely based on the number of rows in the final table. Extracting data from the list page and processing each detail page both consume Credits.

Fetching 50 more detail pages for a list of 50 items will typically result in an additional cost of at least 50 tasks for processing those details, in addition to the costs associated with the list itself.

Website change monitoring

Monitor allows the Robot to run repeatedly on an hourly, daily, weekly basis, or at a custom frequency, and it compares the old results with the new ones. The system can notify users whenever there are changes in prices, inventory levels, text content, list entries, or screenshots; it can also trigger Webhooks or downstream automation processes only when such changes are detected.

It is suitable for price monitoring, competitor pages, policy announcements, job postings, and content updates. The higher the frequency of monitoring and the greater the number of pages, the faster Task and Credits will be consumed.

For the standard self-service package, the minimum monitoring frequency can be set at 5 minutes, while for the Free version the minimum frequency is one hour.

Batch execution

Bulk Run enables the upload of a large number of input parameters for the same robot, allowing multiple URLs or search criteria to be processed at once. The console can be used to initiate batch operations via CSV files, while the API documentation supports large-scale batch tasks; according to the official guidelines, a single command can handle up to 500,000 tasks.

The platform itself does not set a fixed daily limit based on the number of tasks, but the target website may impose speed restrictions or use anti-robot measures. Large-scale tasks should be executed in batches, concurrency should be controlled, Webhooks should be used to receive completion notifications, and rules for retrying and eliminating duplicate or empty results should be established.

How are credits calculated?

A Task represents a single visit by the Robot to a website, during which it performs an extraction, monitoring task, or takes a screenshot. For standard websites, each Task requires at least 1 Credit.

Each Credit allows the retrieval of up to 10 rows of data, or the capture of one screenshot.

Extracting a list of 50 rows usually costs 5 Credits.

Some websites require residential proxies, captcha processing, or the loading of large amounts of files; they are labeled as Premium Sites. The minimum cost per task is 2 to 10 Credits. The actual cost depends on the number of rows to be extracted, the number of screenshots taken, the type of page, and whether it is a Premium Site.

At the end of a monthly or annual billing cycle, any unused Credits are reset and generally not carried over. If an upgrade is performed before the end of the cycle, the remaining credits from the old plan are added to the new plan and can be used in the new cycle.

Additional Credits and domain names can be purchased as part of a package.

Free trial version

Free is a permanently free plan that does not require a credit card; it includes 50 Credits per month, 2 website domains, 3 users, an unlimited number of robots, as well as various platform features such as scraping, monitoring, Workflow management, and integration. 50 Credits allow for the extraction of up to about 500 rows based on the standard conversion rates, but detailed pages, screenshots, and Premium Sites increase the actual cost.

Free is suitable for learning about recorders and testing small datasets, but it is not appropriate for frequent monitoring or handling a large number of detailed pages. The free quota is refreshed on a monthly basis, and any unused balance is not carried over.

Premium hosting plan

Premium is an annual subscription plan costing 500 dollars per month. The website, number of users, and amount of Credits can be customized to meet specific needs; in addition, expert assistance is provided for setup, ongoing data management, data conversion, scale-based discounts, custom configurations, and dedicated account management.

It is suitable for companies whose target websites have strong anti-automation measures, involve large volumes of data, have high requirements regarding data quality, or whose teams do not wish to handle the maintenance of robots on their own. Before providing a quote, it is necessary to clarify the frequency of data delivery, the success rate, the data format, the time frame for making corrections, the cost of Premium proxies, and how long historical data will be retained.

How is the number of websites calculated?

The Website count included in the package refers to the number of unique website domain names that the Robot is currently trained to use, and it does not denote the number of Robots or pages. An infinite number of Robots can be created using the same domain name.

Different sub-pages are usually still considered part of the same website, but moving to another domain name requires a new slot.

When downgrading, if the number of active domain names exceeds the limits set by the new plan, it is necessary to delete excess robots or free up website slots before the downgrade can be completed. When making plans, one should choose a solution based on the actual number of domain names, rather than solely considering the number of robots.

API and Webhook

The Browse AI REST API is available for all plans without any additional fee for API access; it allows users to create and run tasks, manage robots, retrieve structured results, configure monitors, initiate bulk runs, and manage webhooks. Data retrieval as a result of using this API is still billed according to the standard credit system.

Webhooks can send out events when a task is completed, when there are changes in the data captured, when a monitoring check succeeds, or when a table has been exported; they are thus a better choice for production pipelines than continuous polling. Developers should verify these events, handle duplicate notifications, and avoid storing Secret API Keys in the frontend or in public repositories.

Web page to API

After training and approving the Robot, pages that originally did not have APIs can be transformed into stable entry points for making calls. The application provides a URL or keywords; Browse AI runs the Robot in the cloud, and then retrieves the results via an API or waits for a Webhook callback.

\"Converting web pages to APIs\" still relies on the structure of the target page, and it is not equivalent to the website’s official API. Page updates, expired login sessions, verification codes, and regional differences can lead to changes in the fields used or cause failures for robots; therefore, production systems require field validation, caching, and alternative data sources.

Integration and data export

The platform can synchronize results to Google Sheets, Airtable, and Amazon S3, and it can be connected to over 7,000 different applications via Zapier, Make, and Pabbly Connect. It is also possible to export data in CSV format, or to connect databases, BI tools, CRM systems, and internal systems using Webhooks and REST APIs.

Before enabling automatic synchronization, it is necessary to determine the unique keys and the update strategy, in order to distinguish between new records, modified records, and deleted records. In the absence of rules for eliminating duplicates or handling overwrites, periodic monitoring can lead to the continuous addition of identical data or the overwriting of manually made changes.

Residential agents and verification codes

Browse AI utilizes geographic location-based residential proxies and automated CAPTCHA solutions, depending on the characteristics of the website, in order to increase the success rate of cloud-based tasks. Websites that require more sophisticated infrastructure are classified as Premium, with a higher minimum amount of Credits required.

These capabilities do not guarantee stable access to all websites, nor do they grant users the authority to bypass website terms or access controls. Accounts, subscription content, personal information, and copyrighted data in particular require a legitimate basis for use.

Data retention and security

The current data retention period for Free, Personal, and Professional plans is 90 days, while it can be customized for the Premium plan. The official website mentions SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and CCPA, and provides security-related information through the Trust Center.

The password entered during recording is encrypted using AES-256, and it is decrypted on the server side only when the task is executed; team members and regular support staff cannot see the decrypted value in the console.

The service is hosted in AWS data centers in the United States, and TLS 1.2 is used as much as possible.

Even so, companies should use dedicated accounts with limited permissions and avoid recording the administrator’s main password.

GitHub and the open-source status

The official GitHub organization for Browse AI is named BrowseAI-Official; it provides access to various toolkits and upstream project branches, such as xpath-to-css, formulajs, as well as repositories related to building tools. These resources do not include the Robot recorder, cloud browser, monitoring system, nor the complete source code of the platform.

Therefore, the core product of Browse AI is not an open-source web crawler, nor does it support complete self-hosting based on public repositories. If a private network, dedicated proxies, or custom data isolation are required, you should consult the Premium service.
