Within the text, citations can be inserted using shortcut commands, @references, or by selecting text and clicking Cite; various citation styles such as narrative, in-brackets, and those combining multiple sources are supported, along with options for page numbers, prefixes, and suffixes.

The list of references is updated in real time as references are made in the main text. When a reference in the text is removed, the corresponding entry is automatically deleted as well.

When the style is changed, both the main text and the list at the end are reformatted.

Automatic matching cannot guarantee that the paper indeed supports the current sentence; the author should still read the original text and verify the author, year, title, DOI, and page numbers.

5. Over 10,000 citation styles

By default, the styles APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago 17 (author-date), IEEE, and Harvard are available; in addition, it is possible to search through more than 10,000 journal and organization styles from the Zotero CSL Style Repository, including those used by Vancouver, Nature, BMJ, and PLOS ONE.
